Croydon Vegetarians - EVENTS 2008 Croydon Vegetarians
Croydon Vegetarians is one of the oldest UK vegetarian groups. We hope you'll join us to swap ideas and experiences, meet and communicate with other vegetarians & vegans in Croydon to make a difference to the lives of Croydon residents. We also hope to hear from Croydon businesses who have something special to offer Croydon vegetarians & vegans (especially Croydon Restaurants !

Croydon apparently gets it's name from the valley of the crocusses. I can imagine something similar to Happy Valley on the borough's southern borders. These days Croydon is more often compared to Manhatten with it's sky scraper high rise office blocks and handy tram system. A great place to shop (we have two of everything) and there are plans to invest millions into the Croydon regeneration scheme.

Croydon Girl Kate Moss Does Vegan Weed

Croydon girl Kate Moss is allegedly ditching nicotine weed for a vegan sea weed. Apparently she's following Victoria Beckham in the trend for veggie seaweed and algae shakes. Perhaps this new healthy eating enthusiasm will encourage vegan chain smoking boyfriend Jamie to start treating his body with a little more respect.

The Croydon Council Planners are trying to close the Fruit and veg stall at East Croydon station. Shame they can't spend their time closing down the discraceful pet store instead.

It's crazy when the NHS is encouraging us to eat more fruit and veg to reduce the opportunities to buy fruit and vegetables.

Their excuse is that the bright green box is unsightly! Given the surrounding landscape they HAVE to be having a laugh! It's surrounded by concrete monstrosities – the bit of colour is thoroughly welcome!
