Croydon Nutritionist - Health Quest

Croydon Nutritionist Yvonne Bishop Weston clive - oasis Expert Croydon Based Nutritionist Quest for Health

Expert Nutritionist Yvonne Bishop-Weston's rise to stardom since she left The Food Doctor working with Ian Marber has been a roller coaster despite her determination to avoid the label of celebrity TV Nutritionist.

"I never wanted to do TV, celebrity nutritionists are often not taken seriously and I much prefer the doing rather than the talking about it and helping people deal with illness directly in clinic on a one to one basis" says Yvonne

"However these days with our media driven culture it's difficult to avoid it and I've ended up doing more and more appearing on ITV, BBC, Sky as well as in independent documentary productions. We are desperately trying to find a young nutritionist that I can delegate all the TV work to so that I can concentrate on my nutrition clinics in Harley Street and Croydon and corporate workshops all over the UK"

Yvonne's reticence to appear on TV has allowed her to avoid the ghastly farcical labels such as "the pooh doctor" and "Miss Chiplash" that undermines the science of nutritional therapy that some TV shows have reduced Nutrition to in the interests of 'entertainment'.

At the Foods for Life Nutrition Clinics in Harley Street and Croydon we often have clients who have been suffering for over 10 years with something such as digestive issues or irritable bowel syndrome who then find relief within 2 weeks.

Fertility is another area where nutrition therapy can be many times more effective than traditional IVF treatment in helping couples have a healthy baby.

Enevitably weight loss diets and weight management end up being a big percentage of a nutritionist's job. Nutrition therapy goes deeper into an individual's problems with weight gain looking at underlying causes that may be making it harder to lose weight such as metabolic disorders, thyroid problems, food intolerance, adrenal stress and digestive problems.

Nutritionists avoid the pitfalls of faddy diets and calorie counting by focussing on the individual bio chemical needs of the patient. Yvonne says "I've never had a patient yet who couldn't lose weight and we don't do calorie counting. If you have the right healthy foods for your body it's very difficult to eat too much - we focus on quality rather than quantity"

Foods for Life have over 100 different biochemical tests we can recommend for more difficult cases from adrenal stress saliva tests to blood tests for metabolic analyses to test how your body is absorbing and asimilating nutrients.

We do stool tests but you won't see Yvonne donning some rubber gloves and rooting through your pooh - we leave that to specialist laboratories looking for good and bad bacteria and signs of disease and parasites. You do it all in the comfort of your own home and then post the sample off in a specially sealed bio hazard jiffy bag

"I'm not against TV - I have to admit from the point of view of education you can reach millions of people with a few hours work - it's just I like my real job - healing people" reflects Yvonne.
