Croydon became London's 1st Fairtrade Borough in March 2003. Our status as a Fairtrade Borough has been renewed in 2008 as we have demonstrated our commitment to the 5 Fairtrade priniciples. Croydon Council is committed to Fairtrade and many of Croydon's shops, cafés, businesses and other organisations sell or use Fairtrade products including tea, coffee, fruit – particularly bananas, sugar and clothing such as T-shirts. The Fairtrade Network drives forward the borough campaign to raise awareness and encourage action.
